In the west mugwort is most commonly used to treat digestive disorders and cold and flu symptoms such as fever, aching muscles, and upset stomach. In Oriental medicine, mugwort is commonly used as moxibustion, which is burned above the body and acupuncture points to help Tonify, Warm, and Move Qi (Energy) and Blood. In this form it is also known for helping to turn a breech fetus and ease arthritic joint pain. It is also an edible herb used as a flavoring agent in foods and beverages.
